Sigma 10-20

I just ordered the Sigma 10-20mm for my Nikon D300.

Lots of good reviews on this wide angle zoom, and a few bad ones, but I'm hopeful. I need something to break my monotony in my photography.

I was going to get a 50 1.4g or the 85 1.4D, but both of these would not change the way I'm shooting too much compared to my 50 1.8D and 18-200 VR.

I thought about a macro lens like the 105mm Micro or a Lensbaby, but that was too specific.

I'm hoping this wide angle lens will help.

My Photos from Costa Rica

These are my pictures from the Volcano Arenal in Costa Rica. There's actually lava coming out of this thing!

Leopard on G5 iMac

Has anyone noticed that Leopard seems to run things a bit slower on a PowerPC G5 than Tiger did?  Everyone says it's faster, but I haven't noticed.  Also, I still find Spotlight a little slow compared to QuickSilver.  It does find my results better though.

Introduction

Hi.  This is my first post to my new Blog. 

I'm going to use this blog to talk about taking pictures, learning to edit them, and all the fun I have on my Mac (and the frustrations).  

Also, I'm a physician, so a few medical things may slip in too.

I take pictures with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 18-200 VR, Nikkor 50 1.8.

I have an iMac G5 just before they made the transition to the Intel Chip (darn!).  I'm running Leopard now and learning that as well.  I'm hoping to get a new Macbook Pro after Macworld in January.

I do most of my photo editing with iPhoto, Photoshop, and I'm starting to learn Lightroom.
